Insiders At Analog Devices Sold US$8.5m In Stock, Alluding To Potential Weakness

Many Analog Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADI) insiders ditched their stock over the past year, which may be of interest to the company's shareholders. When evaluating insider transactions, knowing whether insiders are buying is usually more beneficial than knowing whether they are selling, as the latter can be open to many interpretations. However, when multiple insiders sell stock over a specific duration, shareholders should take notice as that could possibly be a red flag.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

Analog Devices Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider sale was by the Executive VP & President of Business Units, Gregory Bryant, for US$4.1m worth of shares, at about US$234 per share. So what is clear is that an insider saw fit to sell at around the current price of US$219. We generally don't like to see insider selling, but the lower the sale price, the more it concerns us. Given that the sale took place at around current prices, it makes us a little cautious but is hardly a major concern.
