Some Shaw Communications Inc. (TSE:SJR.B) shareholders may be a little concerned to see that the Independent Director, Willard Yuill, recently sold a whopping CA$680k worth of stock at a price of CA$27.20 per share. However, it's crucial to note that they remain very much invested in the stock and that sale only reduced their holding by 0.6%.

Shaw Communications Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In fact, the recent sale by Independent Director Willard Yuill was not their only sale of Shaw Communications shares this year. Earlier in the year, they fetched CA$25.36 per share in a -CA$1.3m sale. That means that even when the share price was below the current price of CA$26.51, an insider wanted to cash in some shares. When an insider sells below the current price, it suggests that they considered that lower price to be fair. That makes us wonder what they think of the (higher) recent valuation. Please do note, however, that sellers may have a variety of reasons for selling, so we don't know for sure what they think of the stock price. We note that the biggest single sale was only 1.3%of Willard Yuill's holding.
