India's wheat stock position comfortable - government statement

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - The wheat stock position in India is comfortable as the government had 32.64 million tonnes in the central pool at the beginning of June, a government statement said on Tuesday.

The country's wheat stocks are sufficient to meet the requirements under various welfare programmes and to carry out open market sale to moderate prices, the statement added.
