After including them in our roundup of expensive-looking Amazon home stuff, I very speedily added them to my cart and did not live to regret it. They're on the smaller side so probably not your best bet for larger houseplants — but, are abso-freaking-lutely adorbs if you need to house a succulent or two." – Elizabeth Buxton, EditorShop AmazonPotey Terracotta Planter Pots (Set of 2), $, available at AmazonNew Balance Sola Sleek Classic Running Shoe"This one is for my fellow plain white/cream sneaker collectors. I bought these this month because I've worn my Reeboks down to the bone and needed a new go-to. They are super comfortable and give off a 90s dad walking around Disneyland vibe that unfortunately goes with everything else in my wardrobe (hence the 90s Instagram filter I used for my pic). I can now count myself among them in swearing by one for helping me to sleep solidly through the night. If you haven't heard of feals, it's a membership-based CBD subscription where, prior to signing up, you can sample extract flights in order to discover which strength works best with your body. Pretty nifty. Since I've dabbled in CBD, I went with the mid-level 1200-MG — but, the under-$100 600-MG is great for beginners. The first night I tried it, I went a bit overboard and took down a full-dropper. This resulted in me waking up after 12 hours of sleep not knowing what day it was. So, the next night, I actually paid attention to the measurement markers on the dropper and took about a third of what I had before. This equaled a still-as-sound slumber session sans any groggy morning-after effects. I woke up feeling fresh and wellrested — which is a rarity for me! It's also worth noting that I usually take a third of the dropper 30 minutes before getting into bed and it hits me pretty quickly." – Elizabeth Buxton, EditorShop FealsFeals CBD Extract, 600 MG, $, available at FealsNoah's Ark Green Floral Square Tiffin"I was obsessed with the bright floral motif on this hand-painted tiffin from the moment I laid eyes on it, at the artisan website GlobeIn. It took a while to get here because it was coming from Spain, but I put it on as soon as it arrived and have not taken it off. It stacks so perfectly with my other gold rings and blends right in thanks to the warm color. (Brass can be really yellow, but this ring is bronze and boasts a rosy under-glow.) On the subject of brass and bronze — as a longtime wearer of both of these metals I know that they can both tarnish easily and stain the skin. Not so with this ring! However, when I do, it is a true pleasure scrubbing my scalp down with this sea salt cleanser from Christophe Robin, which I repurchased last month after finally using up my first batch. Now, I know that over $50 is pretty steep for shampoo, but if you’re a low-may hair-carer like myself, this scrub will last for months — I think it took me close to a year to work my way through the full 8-oz supply. And while I snagged it at full price last month, prior to Dermstore’s spring sale; you, dear reader, can buy it today for 20% off with code GLOWUP. Which I highly, highly recommend. Like pretty much every product I swear by, this miraculous substance was brought into my life by our beauty editor Karina Hoshikawa, who recommended it to me after I complained about the scalp buildup that I could never seem to get rid of. This scrub seriously changed my hair — I swear it stayed cleaner and shinier after each wash. I use it in conjunction with the brand’s prickly-pear hair masque, which is even pricier, but will last you even longer — you only need very, very little to condition your strands to perfection. (Prickly pear, BTW, is kind of a miracle substance — it’s packed with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties.) Well, here we are in March and I am still wearing these damn things, so: everyone, please buy leg-warmers. So, last year, on frigid bike commutes to the office, I’d just wear leggings underneath my jeans to stay toasty while braving the elements outside. But wearing a double layer of clothing inside my dry-roasted apartment while working from home? No thank you! Leg warmers were the perfect answer to a quarantine-life conundrum, where I’d spend most of the day indoors, wearing lighter-weight pants. When it came time to run out for coffee or a quick errand, I’d just add these bad boys for an extra layer that could be easily removed when I returned to the sweat lodge where I live. They also came in handy on those rare occasions that I braved outdoor dining in February — anyone else who attempted a meal al fresco in 30-degree weather knows the importance of layering in these situations. In those instances, the leg warmers would go over leggings, and underpants — and they worked pretty well. (Trying to eat chili-oil-soaked noodles while wearing two scarves was another story, but I’ll save that for another time.) The pair of leg-warmers that I acquired (from Etsy, of course) was made from a recycled cashmere sweater and therefore one-of-a-kind, but I think these hand-knit alpaca ones will also do the trick." – Emily Ruane, Fashion WriterShop EtsyMamachaUK 100% Alpaca Legwarmers, $, available at EtsyHaus Laboratories The Edge Brow Pencil"Thanks to genetics, I’ve been blessed with full, thick brows since my toddler days. That said, even a bushy-browed gal like myself occasionally wants to play up my arches even more than they do all on their own. While pomades and powders (ideal for full-coverage brow-enhancement) are probably never going to be my jam, I thrive in the world of micro pencils that allow me to add natural, hairlike strokes wherever I need them. This Haus Laboratories one was love at first swipe — it doesn’t disappear upon application, and the tip is neither too stiff nor too waxy. I'd had Farmacy's all-natural skincare on my radar but had yet to actually try any of its premium products until Honey Grail. And, it's just as divine as its clever name suggests. It's pretty spot-on described as a "fast-absorbing, antioxidant-rich face oil for ultimate hydration and glow!" The little bottle features a serum-like dropper that dispenses a luxe oil that feels and smells like a lightweight version of honey — likely due to the fact that it's made with real honey, along with sea buckthorn and a five-flower oil blend (including omegas, vitamins, and amino acids). Since I've been using it in the mornings after splashing my face with cool water, I've noticed improvements; my complexion feels plumper, smoother, brighter, and, most importantly, soothed! I've tried so many types of masks and wipes and so far, the evolvetogether style has been closest to best for days when I'm bespectacled. They are certified medical grade and have a double filter layer but are most similar to a disposable medical mask so it's got a lightness to it that seems to absorb or disperses my hot breath (I'm not a scientist and this is not an exact description of what might be happening) better than other masks that trap and shoot my breath right up into my glasses. I love the idea of buying small-batch fragrances online, but how the h do you know what to order when you can’t smell IRL? Perfumer Loreto Remsing has solved this problem by offering up a “discovery set” consisting of 2-ml samples of every fragrance in her brand’s collection. COOL! I ordered it earlier in the month and I have had so much fun trying out a different scent every few days. I would never have tested out fragrances in the office, but now that we’re all stuck at home, it’s a different story — the scents make a perfect two-minute distraction when I am typing the day away in my bedroom. LARO is a collection of all-natural vegan scents, containing only essential oils and absolutes. The brand, Quince, pulls off such sorcery through its MTC-business model of cutting out the middlemen and directly managing all of its wares' production elements (from creation to packaging and transportation). This fabric is indeed SUPER soft and does not disappoint in feeling very luxe. I also love how the shrunken fit (I'm wearing a size small here) adds a bit of a sporty-90s vibe to an otherwise preppy wardrobe staple. I was worried that it might pill very quickly/easily over time — but, at this point, I've worn it a LOT (in bed, on the couch, in a car, while eating very crumby snacks) and can confirm that it miraculously has done no such thing. So, yes, $45 for a single lighter seems steep, but: it's going to last a lifetime, be a showstopper anytime I light up a candle (or anything else), and is just a heck of a lot more sustainable than the alternative.
