Our housing market is one of the best, or scariest, in the US. Help us tell its story

The News & Observer is collecting information for a series of articles on the Triangle housing market and we would like to hear and share your experiences.

Are you a renter looking for a first home? A long-time homeowner looking to sell? Or are you somewhere in between?

What are your thoughts about the soaring cost of real estate in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Holly Springs, Apex? If you want to buy a home — now or someday — are you worried that you are being permanently priced out of the market? If you’ve been in your home for a few years, are you checking its value every week? And feeling either giddy about your newfound wealth or anxious about whether your taxes will rise at an equally breakneck pace?

Are you a committed renter finding that the cost of other people’s homes are driving your rent rapidly higher?

Or did you move to the area recently and find that Triangle homes and rents are bargains compared to the market you moved out of? Maybe your still working remotely at your job in Manhattan but your virtual commute is from your home in Mebane.

The Triangle has one of the most volatile residential real estate markets in the country at the moment, and the cost of keeping a roof over our heads is a concern we all share. We need your help to explore and tell that story. No matter what your situation, we would like to hear from you.

If you would like to help, please fill out the Google Form below. And please let us know if you’d be willing to speak with one of our reporters as we continue to work on this project in the days and weeks ahead.

Thanks.
