Honda Recalls Certain Grom & NSS300s

Honda Recalls Certain Grom & NSS300s

American Honda is recalling certain 2014-2015 Grom 125 motorcycles, manufactured from June 2013 to September 2015 as well as 2014-2015 NSS300 NSS300A scooters manufactured from June 2013 to March 2015. According to the NHTSA recall, "the resin bracket inside the fuel pump may swell and cause the pump impeller to seize. If the fuel pump seizes, the motorcycle will stall, increasing the risk of a crash."

Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump assembly with one that uses a metal bracket, free of charge. Honda has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are KC3 and KC4. Note: This recall supersedes recall 14V-672. Some, but not all, motorcycles that were remedied under that campaign are affected by this recall as well and need to have the fuel pump replaced again.
