Home and Away confirms the devastating outcome of Susie McAllister story

From Digital Spy

Home and Away spoilers follow from Australian episodes, which some UK viewers may prefer to avoid.

Home and Away has confirmed that the Susie McAllister storyline will take a devastating turn for Leah Patterson-Baker and Justin Morgan as the shady newcomer disappears with the couple's life savings.

Newcomer Susie (Bridie Carter) arrived in Summer Bay back in February, and it was soon made clear that the real estate consultant was out to con its residents.

As well as Susie manipulating John Palmer (Shane Withington) into organising a surf competition so that she could steal the proceeds, scheming Susie also set out to target Leah (Ada Nicodemou) and Justin (James Stewart) as the couple took steps towards buying their first home together.

Speaking to TVWeek, Ada said: "They want a place of their own where they can start creating memories together. They have the money. Cue real estate agent Susie, who helped them find a home."

After the bank rejects Leah and Justin's loan application, Susie suggests to them that they go with a private lender.

The couple are thrilled when they're later told that the deal has gone through, but the excitement soon turns to horror when the estate agent dealing with the sale explains that she's never heard of them.

Leah and Justin confront Susie but she manages to talk her way out of the situation and blames the estate agent for the confusion. The next morning, Leah and Justin are determined to sort out the mess and wait at the surf club for Susie.

When Susie fails to turn up, they voice their concern to John and suggest that Susie may not be who she says she is, but John fiercely defends his girlfriend.

"John is smitten with Susie, all his attention has been focused on getting to know her," Shane explained.

Meanwhile, Irene Roberts (Lynne McGranger), who's already made her suspicions about Susie very clear, arrives at John's house just as Susie is getting ready to run away with the stolen money.

Sensing a threat to her plan, Susie manages to knock out Irene with a chloroformed rag.

By the time everyone else arrives at John's house, Susie has completely disappeared, taking the money from the surf club and Leah and Justin's money with her.

"It's really sad for them all," Ada explained.

Will the police catch up with Susie, or are they too late?

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia). Selected classic episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video in the UK.
