Yahoo Finance Hollyoaks' Stephanie Davis shares emotional post about miscarriage
Former Hollyoaks star Stephanie Davis admitted to feeling "so lost" after suffering a miscarriage.
The actor, who played Sinead O'Connor on the long-running Channel 4 soap, took to Instagram on Monday (September 27) to share the heartbreaking news.
Alongside a video of herself doing a bunch of pregnancy tests, she explained that she'd been encouraged to check whether she was expecting due to her "heavy curry intake and hormones", as well as her followers' comments about her "bad skin."
Eventually, the clip, which is set to Mariah Carey's 'Always Be My Baby', sees her getting a positive result, telling her partner Oliver Tasker and starting to prepare for the arrival of a new little one.
"We only told close friends and family as [we] wanted to wait till the 12 weeks safety mark even though I thought, of course, it would all be fine," the 28-year-old – who welcomed her first child, a son named Caben, with ex Jeremy McConnell back in 2017 – wrote in the caption.
"I was so happy," she continued.
"Unfortunately, I started getting pains," she added, recalling how she was subsequently admitted to hospital. "Scans and lots of bloods later, I had the dreaded phone call of the hospital saying that my levels were dropping drastically, and sadly my pregnancy is no more."
"I finally thought I had my happy ending. That's why I've been quiet. I made this video that Ol and Cath actually had a good laugh at at the time when my hormes were all over the place. It gave them a good laugh watching me watch it on repeat. My hormones were all over the place while I sat and rewatched it over and over, crying happy tears."

Davis went on to say that she had intended to end the video with footage of her telling Caben that he was going to be a big brother but, tragically, it wasn't to be.
"I was so excited to finally get to enjoy every second of my pregnancy, and it be a happy thing. I never thought I'd have the strength to go through another pregnancy as with Caben it was a horrific traumatic time, but I guess you heal and I couldn't wait to have my happy ever after with Oliver and Caben and our baby.
"I feel all over the place right now and know I was early but it still hurts. I [have] seen my whole future ahead of me and had my hand on my stomach every day. Just feel so lost right now and my hormones are understandably all over the place. I know one day I'll get my happy ending but for now, I just have to get through this."
