Priscilla Presley has filed a legal challenge to the validity of Lisa Marie Presley's will.
Lisa Marie was the only child of Priscilla and music legend, Elvis Presley, and sadly passed away earlier this month, leaving behind three of her own children: 33-year-old Riley Keough and 14-year-old twins Harper and Finley. Her son, Benjamin Keough died in 2020 at the age of 27.
In her filing to the Los Angeles Superior Court, Priscilla disputes a 2016 amendment to Lisa Marie's will that removed her and former business manager, Barry Siegel, as co-trustees of the estate, replacing them with Riley and Benjamin.
Priscilla's lawyer's argue that the document misspelled her name and had a signature that appeared "inconsistent with her usual and customary signature". Lawyers also argue that Priscilla only became aware of the "purported 2016 amendment" after Lisa Marie's death.
According to the legal challenge, Priscilla says that the amendment was never delivered to her during her daughter's lifetime, as specifically required by the will, and that the amendment was neither witnessed nor notarised.
"Based on the foregoing, the Purported 2016 Amendment should be deemed invalid and the Trust, as amended and completely restated in 2010 is the controlling and authoritative document and its terms administered," the petition – as seen by the BBC – reads.
Priscilla's filing comes just days after Lisa Marie's loved ones gathered at the Graceland estate in Memphis for a memorial service.
