TikTok reacts to viral 'Healthy Coke' recipe: 'Jail!'

“Healthy Coke” is the new drink craze taking over TikTok — mainly because of its unusual ingredients.

How to avoid panic buying in an ultra-competitive housing market

The TikTok trend began when TikToker @mandyvjones posted this video to share the recipe, which she says she learned from her Pilates instructor.

Luka Sabbat on defying labels and doing your own thing: 'Fit in for what?'

“It’s a healthy alternative to a Coke — and I am not joking you, it tastes just like a Coke, and you’re gonna think I’m insane,” Amanda said.

How to Make a Healthy Coke

  • Fill a cup with ice.

  • Add a splash of balsamic vinegar over the ice.

  • Pour any kind of sparkling beverage or seltzer over the ice – flavor does not matter. (In the TikTok, Amanda uses the Guava flavor of La Croix.)

  • Mix the beverage.

TikTok’s reaction to the Healthy Coke

TikTokers are shocked by the bizarre ingredients that Amanda uses for the Healthy Coke. Since balsamic vinegar is most commonly used as salad dressing, many didn’t believe Amanda’s claim that the concoction will actually taste like the real deal.

“Not salad dressing soda!” Commented Instacart’s official TikTok account.

“Have you ever had a Coke?” another TikToker wrote.

“JAIL!” Someone else commented.

Despite the balsamic vinegar discourse, TikTokers are still motivated to try the Healthy Coke recipe to see if it really does taste good.

This TikTok posted by user @healthylittlepeach is one of many recreations of the soda mix.

Although Ashley (@healthylittlepeach) began the video skeptical of the drink, she was visibly pleased with the Healthy Coke after taking a sip.

“Y’all, that’s delicious!” Ashley said. “That’s my new drink! Don’t add too much balsamic because it’ll overpower it.”

However, Ashley’s positive reaction to the beverage still left TikTok users suspicious — people still can’t get past the odd use of balsamic vinegar.

“OK, y’all, is this real or a joke?! I’ve fallen for so many of these things. I’m too gullible,” a TikToker commented.

“I thought it looked gross and tried it, and was pleasantly surprised,” Ashley responded.
