Honda Time Capsule - Huge Inventory of Honda Bikes and Memorabilia Up For Auction

Have you ever looked through old magazines from back in the day when the vintage bikes you love were new and said, "Gosh, I wish I had a time machine so I could grab some of these when they were practically new, and dirt cheap"? Of course you have, everybody has, to the point where it kind of gets annoying when you hear it for the 110th time. Well, this auction of a long closed Honda dealer in Greenfield, IA is the next best thing.

You see, the Frizell brothers ran a farm machinery shop in Iowa for years, and in 1965 they added Honda motorcycles to the inventory because the little bikes were becoming hugely popular. When they decided to retire in the 1980s the task of selling off all the inventory, and also not having a shop to work on stuff seemed like a big hassle. So they didn't. The doors were locked one day with the pictures on the walls and all the parts and bikes still inside—until now.

Do you like the Honda CBX? How about a practically new one with just 295 miles on it?

Or how about a slightly less cherry, but still nearly new CB750 DOHC to match?

Of course, you're going to want the matching NOS Hondaline helmet that goes with them, right?

How about a freestanding Vetter Windjammer fairing sales display? This would be a great piece to mount a iPod dock/car stereo—speakers too—and use as a stereo in your Man Cave.

Or a NOS set of "Mind Blower" dual throat Weber carbs for a CB750, complete with manifold and instructions?

And if you like your Honda's older, how about this 1967 Dream? No title, and not quite complete, but this should be an easy bike to get going. You could be winning at bike shows later this summer.

There are plenty of bargains to be had too—from patches, to posters, to parts, to tools, to NOS motors and frames. I personally want this 1976 Fulmer/Honda Bicentennial helmet, but it won't fit my big head.
