Google Chrome updated to include ‘Do Not Track’ privacy option

Google (GOOG) on Thursday added support for a Do Not Track privacy option in the latest developer build of its Chrome Web browser, All Things D reported. When Do Not Track is enabled it blocks tracking cookies used by advertisers for targeting purposes. The Internet giant has offered an extension in its Chrome Web Store since 2011 that acted in a similar manner, however unlike its competitors — Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari — the option was not built directly into the browser. A Google spokesperson confirmed that the Do Not Track option is expected be available in a stable version of Chrome by the end of the year.
