Gisele Bündchen wants us all to be kinder.

On Sunday, the Brazilian model, 43, shared a candid Instagram post stressing the importance of kindness amid people’s “silent struggles” and “heartbreaks.”

Alongside a photo of herself basking in the sun on a beach in a black swimsuit, Bündchen wrote, “Everyone we meet has faced or is facing challenges in life that we know nothing about. We don't see the silent struggles, the fear, the obstacles, the heartbreaks, or their daily ups and downs…”

"As we go about our daily routine, we may miss seeing someone needing a simple, kind word or gesture. I believe an act of kindness sparks more kindness, and this is what we most need in the world today. 🙏.”

Back in September, Bündchen opened up to PEOPLE about how she navigates the difficult times in her life, including caring for her ailing parents, Vânia and Valdir.

“It's been very tough on my family. It's been a lot — in every area of my life,” she said. “I feel like whenever it rains, it pours. With all the different twists and turns that life takes, all we can do is the best we can given what happens in our surroundings.”

She added that she relies on meditation, wellness and working out “every single day” to keep her grounded.

“I think if I didn't have all the different tools that I have to support me during these times, it would've been very hard,” she continued to PEOPLE. “And I think we all can relate to that, because I think we all have gone through our roller coasters of life.”

The mom-of-two had a family reunion with her parents and five sisters in Brazil in September.

She shared a series of snaps from the trip on Instagram, including one featuring her and her five siblings — twin Patricia and sisters Rafaela, Graziela, Gabriela and Raquel — around a table with their parents.

The model, who now lives in Miami, was joined in Brazil by her daughter Vivian, 10, and son Benjamin, 13, who she shares with her ex-husband, retired NFL star Tom Brady. The pair, who married in 2009, finalized their divorce in October 2022.
