Scott Parker’s Fulham welcome the Premier League leaders Manchester United in a game that will impact both ends of the table.

The Cottagers’ five-game unbeaten run was snapped by rivals Chelsea last time out, while United aim to extend their own unbeaten away streak this season and return to winning ways after the stalemate with champions Liverpool on Sunday.

United know they have no room for error now at the top of the table, with Manchester City within striking distance and able to usurp them should they win their game in hand, while Parker is buoyed by his side’s resilience last time out.

"We've done remarkably well considering where we were at the start of the season," said Parker. "We were probably the laughing stock in terms of how people were portraying us - never was that the case in-house. We've done remarkably well to be fighting and punching away like we are - not just with determination and grit, but with a real style about us.

"It's clear that you can see a real drastic improvement in our overall game. There was a narrative around us at the start of this season and that narrative was probably helped by the previous time we were in this division. We lost two games by more than two goals, that narrative was instantly in people's heads, 'Oh look, it's the same Fulham'.

“I just think people were blurred a little bit by the last time we were here. I can understand why. It was certainly an area we needed to address.”

Prediction

United picked up a valuable point at the champions last time out, but that result is only useful if they back it up with a victory here. Fulham’s promising run of five successive draws came to an end against Chelsea, but Scott Parker’s side battled hard there, and I expect them to do so once again, despite a couple of key losses through suspension. Ultimately we’ll lean towards United’s match-winners grinding out the three points for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer though, perhaps with the winner coming in the final 15-20 minutes or so with plenty of firepower off the bench to take advantage of any tired Fulham legs. Fulham 1-2 Man United.
