Friends' Gunther actor James Michael Tyler dies, aged 59

Friends star James Michael Tyler has passed away, aged 59.

The actor, who played Central Perk manager Gunther in the beloved US sitcom, recently explained that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer back in September 2018.

Tyler passed away peacefully at his home in Los Angeles on Sunday morning, according to a statement from his manager.

"If you met him once you made a friend for life," it said. "[He] is survived by his wife, Jennifer Carno, the love of his life."
