Fresno homeowner saddened as video shows small child stealing package from doorstep

A Fresno homeowner’s security cameras captured video showing a small child taking a package from the porch of the home.

Videos sent to Storyful, a news and video service, by homeowner Sierra Zamora show the November 26, 2021, incident. The footage can be seen above.

“It was just sad to see,” Zamora told Fresno ABC30.

She told the San Antonio news station that she has lived in her home for 11 years and has never had a package stolen from her porch.

One angle shows the child, who appears to be wearing pajamas, approaching the home. The child looks back toward the street, where an adult person is standing, before picking up a package and walking away.

A second camera angle shows a vehicle stopped on the street outside the home and an adult person walking on the sidewalk. A child exits the vehicle and approaches the adult person before walking up the front walk of the home.

Mail thieves and porch pirates seem to come out more at this time of year, according to the U.S. postal service.

If homeowners are away or can’t pick up the mail they can have packages delivered to the post office, a USPS postal inspector told NEWS4SA.
