Yahoo Finance Former Texas RB Keaontay Ingram transfers to USC
Keaontay Ingram is heading to the Pac-12.
The now-former Texas running back said Tuesday that he was transferring to USC. Ingram has spent three seasons at Texas and has rushed for 1,811 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Ingram was a key part of Texas’ rushing attack in his first two seasons on campus. He rushed for 708 yards and three touchdowns as a freshman and rushed 144 times for 853 yards and seven TDs as a sophomore.
He played in just six games as a junior in 2020 because of an ankle injury he suffered against Oklahoma State on Halloween. He ended his season with 53 carries for 250 yards and a TD and also caught 11 passes for 103 yards with a TD catch. And his most memorable moment of the season was unfortunately an infamous one. Ingram fumbled near the goal line with less than three minutes left in Texas’ 33-31 loss to TCU on Oct. 3.
A backfield boost for USC
Ingram’s arrival to Los Angeles comes after USC RB Markese Stepp announced he was transferring to Nebraska.
Ingram could see significant playing time right away in a backfield that may feature either or both Stephen Carr and Vavae Malepeai again. Both players were seniors in 2020 and have not announced if they are returning for a bonus season of eligibility due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Texas, meanwhile, is set to proceed with Bijan Robinson as its top rusher in 2021. Robinson had 86 carries for 703 yards and 15 catches for 196 yards in nine games as a freshman last year. And if new Texas coach Steve Sarkisian’s use of Najee Harris at Alabama over the last two seasons is any indication, Robinson’s going to have a big workload as a sophomore.
