Ford recalls 390K cars for faulty door latches
Ford (F) on Friday issued a safety recall for about 390,000 newer cars with door latch issues.
The North American recall affects 2012-2014 Ford Fiesta models and 2013-2014 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ models. Ford dealers will replace all four latches for no cost, the company said.
A broken part in the doors can lead to difficulty in closing them, leaving the "potential the door may unlatch while driving," Ford said. The automaker noted two cases in which a door bounced back and hit individuals when they tried to close it.
Shares in Ford closed slightly higher Friday.
