Boise Thai Noodle House has been open for less than a week, but owner Frank Adams already feels optimistic.
Glowing Google reviews are materializing. And newly converted regulars are walking through the door — repeatedly.
Located at 12375 W. Chinden Blvd., Boise Thai Noodle House sells takeout food only — for now. The restaurant also is doing third-party delivery through DoorDash and, likely, Uber Eats soon.
“We’ve had some real positive feedback,” Adams says. “They’re lovin’ it. I’ve had customers coming in every day since we’ve opened. The guy’s like, ‘We’re here for dinner again.’
“I’m not surprised because I know how good our food is. But ... the same people are coming back. We’re feeling good about it.”
In-house dining is expected to be launched within a week or two. When that happens, the newly remodeled space will seat up to 52 customers.
For Idahoans trumpeting the restaurant online, that apparently can’t come soon enough.
“Decor inside is amazing; can’t wait to bring my wife there for dinner,” wrote one Google reviewer. “Beautiful inside,” added another, explaining that the restaurant “knocked it out of the park” when it came to the food.
Adams’ wife, Pisutkan, is from Thailand. She and her family are cooking many specialties from their homeland. The restaurant’s core staff is “all Thai people except for me,” Adams says.
As a noodle restaurant, there’s a focus on soups. The menu includes beef noodle soup, chicken noodle soup, pork noodle soup, kao soy and spicy moo tom yum noodle soup, all priced at $14.50.
Naturally, there are starters such as crispy rolls ($8.99), fresh spring rolls ($9.99) and coconut shrimp ($9.99).
“Thai famous dishes” on the menu include pineapple fried rice ($17.50), spicy basil with rice ($13.50) and Thai cashew with rice ($14.50).
But the three most popular entrees, according to Adams? Those are pad thai, pad see ew (each $13.50) and pad kee mao, aka drunken noodles ($14.50). They’re listed in their own section of the menu as “awesome noodle dishes.”
One freshly posted Google review praises the pumpkin curry ($16.99), one of several curry options. ”It had the perfect amount of spice to deliver amazing flavor yet not be overpowering,” the reviewer said, explaining, “I absolutely would recommend giving them a try.”
When Boise Thai Noodle House does welcome diners to sit while eating, beer aficionados will be able to belly up to the bar and enjoy options ranging from Mac and Jack’s African amber ale to Dragon’s Milk bourbon barrel-aged stout. “We got seriously good beer on tap,” Adams brags.
