Facebook Rumored to be Preparing a Mobile Payment Service; Walgreen Being Pushed to Relocate for Tax Benefits

Shares of NQ Mobile closed down nearly 13% on Monday with about 14 million shares traded. The fall came after the company released its 2013 Q4 and full year results. The results were mixed, with the company beating revenue estimates. EPS for the quarter fell short however of analysts’ estimates however with the company reporting earnings of 22 cents per share, 10 cents less than the 32 cents per share analysts had projected.

Shares of Facebook were little changed but trading volume came in at around 72 million shares on Monday. According to the Financial Times citing sources involved with the process, the company is planning to add a mobile payment service to the network. Facebook is close to obtaining approval from the Central Bank of Ireland to start a service that would allow users to store money on Facebook and use it to pay and exchange with others, the people told the FT.

Shares of WAG closed up over 2% on Monday with about 9.8 million shares traded. The stock was one of the most active stocks on the NYSE. The company is being pressured by a group of major shareholders including Goldman Sachs, to move its headquarters to Europe in a tax cutting move, according to a report by the Financial Times.

AvWorks Aviation closed down 33.15% on about 22.7 million shares traded on Monday. The stock was one of the biggest decliners in the OTC marketplace. The company announced that it would show its new, cutting-edge vaporizers at the High Times' U.S. Cannabis Cup held at the Denver Mart, Denver, Colorado, April 19-20. Over 40,000 adults and 700 vendors are expected for the two day public event. Vapor Group will be exhibiting the new products at its booth 203B.
