Euphoria: HBO releases new special ‘bridge’ episode trailer featuring Jules

HBO has released a minute-long teaser for the second special episode of Euphoria, airing on 22 January on HBO Max.

Titled “F**k Anyone Who’s Not a Sea Blob” (also called “Part 2: Jules”), the special episode is focused on Jules (Hunter Schafer), who, last we saw on the Season 1 finale hopping a train and leaving home.

In the special, Jules is shown reflecting on her relationship with girlfriend Rue (Zendaya), whom she’d begged to leave town with her.

"Rue was the first girl who didn't just look at me," she says in a voiceover. "She actually saw me. The me that's underneath the million layers of not me."

“So why'd you run away?,” an unseen voice asks.

Jules does not respond; she just looks troubled as a montage of moments spent with Rue flash across the screen.

Additionally, a snippet of a new collaboration between pop performers Billie Eilish and Rosalía, titled “Lo Vas A Olvidar”, soundtracks the trailer. The full song will premiere with an accompanying music video on Thursday, 21 January.

After its early HBO Max premiere on 22 January at 9 PM ET, the episode will premiere again on HBO on Sunday, 24 January at 9 PM ET.

“Part 2: Jules” was directed by Euphoria creator Sam Levinson and co-written by Levinson and Schafer, who also co-executive produced.

“I think one of Jules’s main battles is her desire for romance and normalcy and love, which I think she’s kind of locked down a routine as far as getting some form of that,” Schafer said of her character, who is trans, to The New York Times in 2019.

“But of course it’s not healthy, and I can relate to that point in my life. I didn’t act out on it, but I certainly desired to be treated a certain way in order to affirm my femininity.”
