Next week on 'Emmerdale': Kim catches Gabby in the act, plus Liv has a toxic seizure (spoilers)
Liv reaches a crisis point, Kim reckons she might have dementia, while Gabby is in danger of being exposed.
Read on for more on these dramatic high points, as well as the rest of the Emmerdale gossip for 17-21 May, 2021.
Liv hits rock bottom
The ultimate soap crossover episode would feature the genre’s most famous drunks converging at an AA meeting. Peter from Corrie would be there, as would Phil from EastEnders. And they’d now be joined by Liv from Emmerdale, who’s dependency on booze is about to put her in big danger when she gets plastered, hooks up with a sleazy stranger called Max in the pub and then goes into a toxic seizure.

In the aftermath of this nightmare scenario, we’ll see Chas playing hardball when she grabs Liv’s phone and puts her under house arrest. But will this surprise intervention pay off and set Liv on the path to sobriety?
Kim’s dementia test
With her memory problems worsening, Kim makes a phone call to her doctor and requests a dementia test. But little does she realise that her mystery poisoner is still lurking in the shadows, spiking her brandy decanter with diazepam.
Gabby, whose motives are getting shadier by the second (see below for more on that), learns of the appointment and urges Kim to keep it a secret from Jamie. But when he inevitably finds out that his terrified mum has headed off for the test on her own, Gabby is taken to task about her meddling ways.
Gabby plunders the business account
Prior to that showdown with Kim and Jamie, we’ll see Gabby sporting some fresh designer clothes, having first gained access to the company accounts on her laptop. But spy in the camp Noah is aware that Gabby is double dealing and feeds his findings back to Jamie, who needs evidence and so orders his underling to get hold of that computer.
Amid all this, there’s also a secret notebook of Kim’s which Gabby is also using to her own advantage. But when the young plotter comes close to being rumbled, she tries to fob Kim off by blaming the discrepancies on her foggy memory.
Aaron is in trouble
The saga of Brenda’s stolen brooch rumbles on, with the police once again turning up in the village, this time to tell Pollard that the charges against him as regards that cricket bat attack have been dropped.
But then comes the officers’ surprise next move when they take Aaron in for questioning. He’s someone who’s no stranger to police scrutiny, but will he reveal that, on this occasion, he was actually trying to do the right thing?
Ethan moves on
Finally, Ethan catches up with his dad and reveals that he’s going to put his search for his mum behind him and start living life instead. What he doesn’t yet realise, of course, is that Meena was the one masquerading as his errant mother.
But despite Ethan being as good as his word and turning his attention to the world of dating apps, it can surely only a matter of time before Meena’s scheming is exposed, right?
