EastEnders' Aaron turns more sinister as Dana makes big decision

EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders' Aaron Monroe's behaviour will turn even more sinister over the coming weeks, as his sister Dana Monroe makes a huge decision about her life.

Since Aaron (Charlie Wernham) arrived in Albert Square in October, he has made no secret of his dislike for Dana's (Barbara Smith) boyfriend, Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell). Over the past few weeks, Aaron has gone out of his way to make life awkward for Bobby by constantly interrogating him about his Muslim faith.

In upcoming scenes, Dana contemplates converting to Islam herself and turns to Iqra Ahmed (Priya Davdra) to ask for some advice over the possibility.

Meanwhile, Aaron tries to get inside Bobby's head about his role in Christmas festivities as a Muslim, which makes Bobby feel extremely anxious.

When Dana finds out about what's been going on, she confronts her brother over his actions. And when she tells him that she is thinking of converting to Islam herself, Aaron is angered.

Could Aaron's fury put Dana in danger?

Only Aaron's dad Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) currently has any idea of Aaron's true motivations, with Harvey having recently discovered that Aaron was involved in the violent and racist assault of a taxi driver.

After Aaron swore that he hadn't meant to be involved in the attack, and that he would never see the group that he had been hanging around with again, Harvey reluctantly gave him a false alibi for the night of the assault.

But, later that night, Aaron was spraying hateful graffiti onto the walls of the Argee Bhajee and making a sinister phone call about the new local mosque being planned, claiming that it will "never" open.

With both Harvey and Aaron's new love interest Tiffany Butcher-Baker (Maisie Smith) potentially set to be drawn further into his dark world, how long will it be before Aaron is exposed?

Actor Charlie Wernham recently spoke to Digital Spy about the future plans for his character, saying that he knows "what's coming up for the foreseeable".

"I have enough knowledge to know where I'm going with the part, which is really, really helpful. They're brilliant at keeping you in the loop with that sort of thing," he said. "Long-term, I don't know if they know yet. That's the beauty of soap. When you have that many characters and relationships on screen, literally anything can happen."

EastEnders airs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on BBC One.
