Daniel Kaluuya has opened up about his Oscar chances following his BAFTA win for Judas and the Black Messiah.

The Marvel star took home the award for Best Supporting Actor at the ceremony on Sunday night (April 11) for his role as US activist Fred Hampton, an accolade he also secured at last month's Golden Globes.

With the Oscars right around the corner, Daniel is now odds-on favourite to secure the gong — but, speaking after his BAFTA win, the actor was reluctant to get his hopes up.

On looking ahead to the Oscars, Daniel told Digital Spy and other press: "I'm chill, man.

"I take every day as it comes. I don't think like that. I'm just chill. I'm enjoying this; I ain't thinking about two weeks' time."

Daniel will face off against his Judas and the Black Messiah co-star LaKeith Stanfield, Sacha Baron-Cohen, Leslie Odom Jr. and Paul Raci for the Best Supporting Actor award at the Oscars later this month.

He will also soon reunite with Get Out director Jordan Peele on a mystery project due for release next year that co-stars Keke Palmer and The Walking Dead's Steven Yeun.

Asked about his future career trajectory following his multiple BAFTA wins (he also won the Rising Star award in 2018), Daniel added: "I don't know.

"I feel I've still got a bit of work to do, I've got a lot of work to do, you know what I mean? So, I'm still cracking on."
