Daniel Arsham Unveils Clothing, Art Installation in Boston

BOSTON PRIDE: All Too Human, a new luxury designer and concept boutique that opened in Boston over the summer — and which carries men and women’s collections from brands including Alyx, Baja East, Delpozo, Dion Lee, Dries Van Noten, Jacquemus, J.W. Anderson, Proenza Schouler, Rosetta Getty, Sally LaPointe and more — has teamed with New York-based artist Daniel Arsham on an exclusive art installation.

The installation will be unveiled during a cocktail party happening October 27 at the boutique, which is located at 236 Clarendon Street in the heart of Boston’s Back Bay shopping district.

“Jessica Knez, the founder of All Too Human, is very fond of the arts as well as my personal work,” Arsham said, noting that the two started chatting about possible collaborations together. “I am particularly excited about this project as it is the first opportunity to expose my work publicly to audiences in Boston.”

The installation for All Too Human follows Arsham’s recent solo show in New York, Circa 2345, which bowed at the Galerie Perrotin. For the store, Arsham created a sculpture of a Boston Celtics jacket constructed from cyclonite crystal. “The Celtics jacket follows a number of other works that I have created which use geological materials to reform objects from our present,” Arsham said. “For each exhibition that I’ve done that create a kind of fictional archeology, I’ve tried to center them on a particular subject matter of things that are often very iconic…that we all sort of recognize and have some sort understanding or relationship with.”

The sculpture, Arsham’s first installation in the state, will live in the store permanently. Arsham will also be designing a limited-edition T-shirt available exclusively at the boutique and themed around his interest in archeology — though he kept mum on the details. “[It] makes the wearer part of my archelogy team,” Arsham said. “Without giving too much away, the limited-edition apparel project will also utilize some of the concepts that I’ve been developing in my art practice.”
