While her younger, 18-year-old sister Elle just recently twirled in an outstanding Valentino piece at Cannes--arguably one of the year's best red carpet moments--22-year-old actress Dakota Fanning is, like most of us, keeping it real. On Wednesday in New York, the former War of the Worlds and I Am Sam star took in a day that finally felt like summer--and found the perfect dress for doing so.

The striped blue Zara dress ($50; zara.com) is not only super affordable, but honestly looks like a million bucks when styled with the right accessories. For Fanning, the off-the-shoulder ruffled design called for a casual getup that consisted of white sneakers and frilly jewels--her circle-adorned chocker was the ideal choice. She wore a pair of orange-red tinted aviator shades and carried an embellished clutch with embroidered detailing.
