An adult male cyclist died in a crash involving a midsize SUV in Canyon County early Monday morning, according to Idaho State Police, which is investigating the incident.

The crash happened at the intersection of U.S. 20-26 and 11th Avenue North, north of Nampa and east of Caldwell. Troopers responded at 6:35 a.m. The driver was traveling eastbound on U.S. 20-26 and the bicyclist was heading south on 11th Avenue, according to an ISP news release.

The Canyon County Coroner’s Office identified the cyclist as 37-year-old Cody Thomas Jacobs, of Nampa. Multiple traumatic injuries caused his death at the scene, according to the coroner’s office.

The driver, a woman from Nampa, did not require medical transportation, the release said.
