CRF Frozen Foods Recall Expands Over Listeria Fears

The recall affects more than 300 products

CRF Frozen Foods is massively expanding the recall of its products due to a possible listeria contamination, the company announced Monday.

All of CRF’s frozen fruit and vegetable products manufactured or processed a the company’s Pasco, Wash. facility since May 1, 2014 will be part of the voluntary recall. The products have best buy or sell by dates between April 26, 2016 and April 26, 2018. Overall the recall includes 358 products under 42 separate brands sold at major grocers such as Safeway, Trader Joe’s and Costco. An initial recall in April included 15 items.

Since 2013, eight people from three states have been infected with listeria, which can cause dangerous infections among children and the elderly. CRF’s products are a likely cause of the outbreak, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
