Costco is becoming one of the most popular pizza chains in America by offering one huge incentive

When Americans think of pizza, they might not think of Costco.

However, the bulk retail giant is one of the biggest pizza chains in the US, thanks to its food court business that sells slices for only $1.99. With 482 domestic locations, the vast majority of which have food courts, the retailer is the 14th largest pizza chain in the country.

Number 14 may not sound like much to brag about. However, when looking at Pizza Today’s list of the top 50 pizza chains in America, it becomes clear that nearly 500 locations is nothing to scoff at.

Pizza Hut and Domino’s may have more than 10,000 locations, but these mega-chains are the exception, not the rule. Only six pizza chains have more than 1,000 locations in the US.

Ultimately, Costco is a bigger pizza chain than California Pizza Kitchen and nearly as big as CiCi’s Pizza — at least when it comes to sheer size.

This isn’t the only part of the food industry where Costco has a huge impact. The chain serves more than four times as many hot dogs a year than all the Major League Baseball ballparks combined.
