And now, there's yet another budding pants trend to keep an eye out for: Ankle straps, which are essentially belts for your ankles.

Perhaps you remember that in 2019, fashion girls were exploring a styling hack involving strappy heels, tying them around their ankles over the bottom of their jeans. The trick — which was spotted via street style and on Instagram — was unfortunately short-lived, since we soon began reaching for the nearest sweat set after settling in at home. But, as we all emerge from lockdown, fashion as a whole is witnessing a sort of revival, and it seems like ankle ties are getting a second chance. This time, however, the straps are built right into the pants, so it's one and done — no DIY necessary.
In a way, it's the perfect time for this particular style to emerge.
