Children’s Place beats in Q1, mixed quarter from Aurora Cannabis, tough loss for Tilray

Here are the companies Yahoo Finance is watching today.

A surprise beat at the Children's Place (PLCE). The retailer posted stronger than expected earnings and sales last quarter. However, same-store sales were down 4.5%, and it expects them to remain flat for the rest of 2019.

A mixed quarter at Aurora Cannabis (ACB). The legal marijuana giant reported bigger than expected losses, but revenue grew 20% from the previous quarter. And they sold 9 metric tons of marijuana to start the year. The CEO called the results "solid" despite a challenging quarter.

A different story at Tilray (TLRY). Sales there beat and revenue jumped nearly 200% from a year ago, but its loss was deeper than many analysts had forecast. The CEO says it may still take some time for supply and demand to even out in Canada's legal market.

Microsoft (MSFT) is warning users about a monster computer bug. The company says it has fixed the flaw but says it's “highly likely” that it will end up being used by malicious software. The flaw mainly affects older systems such as Windows 7 and Windows 2003.

Amazon's (AMZN) Jeff Bezos is breaking ground on a cargo hub for its Prime Air planes. The $1.5 billion facility is the company's latest effort to deliver packages to customers faster and cut costs. The hub, located in northern Kentucky, is expected to create more than 2,000 jobs once it opens.
