A Chick-fil-A grows in Brooklyn? Eventually, yes...

As Chick-fil-A plots its first two full-menu locations in the Big Apple, it's already eyeing city expansion beyond Manhattan.

When asked about a possible Brooklyn restaurant, Chick-fil-A's vice president of public relations, Carrie Kurlander, said eventually the chain would love an outpost in the borough. She says "that will happen" in the future, but notes that, for now, the chain is focused its forthcoming flagship in Manhattan.

In October, privately held Chick-fil-A is set to open its largest location yet in New York's Garment District. Another is slated to open next year near Rockefeller Center.

"Certainly we won't be stopping at those two" in the city, Kurlander told CNBC.

The eighth biggest restaurant chain by U.S. sales, Chick-fil-A has been steadily expanding beyond its traditional footprint in the Southeast. By year end, it aims to expand to nearly 2,000 locations, and 15 percent of openings are planned for new markets. As of Aug. 7, there were 1,928 Chick-fil-As in operation.
