CEO & Director Craig Campbell Just Bought 2.3% More Shares In Avante Logixx Inc. (CVE:XX)

Whilst it may not be a huge deal, we thought it was good to see that the Avante Logixx Inc. (CVE:XX) CEO & Director, Craig Campbell, recently bought CA$105k worth of stock, for CA$1.50 per share. However, it only increased their shares held by 2.3%, and it wasn't a huge purchase by absolute value, either.

Avante Logixx Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In fact, the recent purchase by Craig Campbell was the biggest purchase of Avante Logixx shares made by an insider individual in the last twelve months, according to our records. That means that an insider was happy to buy shares at around the current price of CA$1.52. While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. While we always like to see insider buying, it's less meaningful if the purchases were made at much lower prices, as the opportunity they saw may have passed. The good news for Avante Logixx share holders is that insiders were buying at near the current price.

In the last twelve months Avante Logixx insiders were buying shares, but not selling. The average buy price was around CA$1.12. To my mind it is good that insiders have invested their own money in the company. However, you should keep in mind that they bought when the share price was meaningfully below today's levels. You can see a visual depiction of insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last 12 months, below. Does Avante Logixx Boast High Insider Ownership?

Many investors like to check how much of a company is owned by insiders. Usually, the higher the insider ownership, the more likely it is that insiders will be incentivised to build the company for the long term. Avante Logixx insiders own about CA$9.5m worth of shares. That equates to 29% of the company. We've certainly seen higher levels of insider ownership elsewhere, but these holdings are enough to suggest alignment between insiders and the other shareholders.

What Might The Insider Transactions At Avante Logixx Tell Us?

It is good to see the recent insider purchase. And an analysis of the transactions over the last year also gives us confidence. But we don't feel the same about the fact the company is making losses. When combined with notable insider ownership, these factors suggest Avante Logixx insiders are well aligned, and that they may think the share price is too low. While we like knowing what's going on with the insider's ownership and transactions, we make sure to also consider what risks are facing a stock before making any investment decision. To that end, you should learn about the 2 warning signs we've spotted with Avante Logixx (including 1 which shouldn't be ignored).
