Central Park Tower penthouse is 'a new wonder of the world': SERHANT CEO

Within his decade-long stretch on Bravo TV’s “Million Dollar Listing New York,” Ryan Serhant has never seen a listing quite like the Central Park Tower Penthouse that hit the market for $250 million this week. In fact, there’s never been a listing like it anywhere, according to Serhant, who is the listing agent on the exclusive property.

“It’s a sight to be seen, it’s a new wonder of the word,” Serhant told Yahoo Finance Live (video above).

Beyond its high price tag, the luxury penthouse also sits 1,416 feet above New York City, making it the world’s tallest residential building. The home is 17,500 square feet, with seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and three powder rooms, in addition to a 1,433 square-foot terrace also deemed the highest on earth.

Developer Gary Barnett of Extell Development spared no expense on the property and it shows, says Serhant.

"There is nothing else like it," Serhant said. "I’ve been seeing high-priced luxury homes for 15 years in my career. I’ve sold some of the most expensive homes around the world, I have never seen anything like this home.”

Standing out on Manhattan’s notorious Billionaire’s Row is no easy task, but Serhant says that’s what they’ve done.

"You’re not just buying the home, you’re buying the lifestyle of that vertical neighborhood," Serhant said. "Central Park Tower is ‘the’ building,’ it’s ‘the’ tower.”

Spread across three floors (129th through the 131st) buyers can also enjoy a private ballroom, floor-to-ceiling glass, library, theater, and a spectacular spiral staircase overlooking Central Park.

What kind of amenities are included for 250 million?

Access to the building's Central Park Club, which includes approximately 50,000 square feet of hotel-style services and amenities, such as indoor and outdoor pools and a state-of-the-art gym. There’s also a 100th-floor club with a private restaurant, bar, and catering space specifically for the residents.

“Nothing like that has ever existed in New York ever," Serhant said. "The amenities really make the lifestyle of this building."

You can essentially see everything from the country's most expensive listing. Perhaps the only thing you cannot see is the U.S housing correction enveloping the country, nor the ominous signs of a looming global recession.

On its first day on the market, Serhant told Yahoo Finance he already booked three billionaire showings and expects many more.

“If you are one of the few around the world who considers themselves a billionaire and is classified as one. Where do you put your cash? And real estate is one of those places, because it is incredible value, especially on an island like New York City.”
