(Metropolitan Police)

A man and woman who smashed the door of an east London home and then attacked an onlooker are being sought by police.

The woman was armed with a baseball bat as the pair attempted to enter the property, near Roneo Corner in Havering, at around 9.30pm on May 25.

She began to smash the glass door with the bat as they ramped up efforts to get into the block, the Metropolitan Police said.

A man, who has not been identified, went outside to see what was happening and asked the pair to leave.

He explained that the person they claimed to be looking for did not live there.

The couple then became aggressive and began to attack him.

The victim, who did not know his attackers, was left with minor injuries to the upper body.

Police have recovered images of the pair and are now asking the public to help identify them.

PC Mark McNulty, investigating, said: “I am very keen to speak to anyone who can provide information concerning the identity of the man and the woman shown in the images.

“I would urge anyone that can name the two individuals to contact the police immediately.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference CAD 9524/25MAY20.
