When is the Carabao Cup final 2021? Tottenham v Man City at Wembley as Mourinho and Guardiola face off

Tottenham will face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup Final after both sides saw off local rivals in the semi-finals.

Spurs eased past fellow Londoners Brentford 2-0 on Tuesday night with goals from Moussa Sissoko and Heung-min Son in north London.

That victory means Jose Mourinho is now one win away from lifting the trophy he won three times with Chelsea (2005, 2008 and 2015) and once at Manchester United (2017).

The second semi-final saw Manchester United host Man City at Old Trafford, and the visitors prevailed following an open first half.

City had the ball in the net twice - and United once - though all three first-half efforts were ruled out for offside before John Stones turned home from a free-kick after the break.

Fernandinho then volleyed home a crucial second for City to send them to Wembley for a chance to win the League Cup for a fourth straight season.

The final pits old rivals Mourinho and Guardiola against one another in the capital - and the Spaniard has the chance to deny the Portuguese his first trophy as Spurs boss.

When is the Carabao Cup final?

The League Cup final tradionally occurs at the end of February, but due to the unique nature of the 2020/21 season as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, the fixture date was moved.

The game had been due to go ahead on Sunday, February 28, 2021, but will now be played at on Sunday, April 25, 2021. Kick-off is provisionally scheduled for 4pm.

The final was moved back in the hope that Covid-19 protocols would have been eased to such an extent that fans - or at least a percentage of them - would be allowed to attend the game at Wembley.
