Canadian Tire Corporation Limited Class A Non-Voting Shares (T.CTC.A) hit a new 52-week high of $171.91 Thursday. Canadian Tire released first-quarter results for the period ended April 1, 2017. Consolidated revenue increased $194.1 million, or 7.6%. Diluted EPS was $1.24 in the quarter, an increase of $0.34 per share, or 37.8%, over the first quarter of 2016.

TELUS Corporation (T.T) hit a new 52-week high of $46.00 Thursday. TELUS says its consolidated operating revenue increased 2.9% to $3.2 billion in the first quarter of 2017, over the same period a year ago, reflecting higher revenue from data services and subscriber growth in both wireless and wireline operations. Earnings before interest, income taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) increased by 11% to $1.3 billion. When excluding restructuring and other costs, adjusted EBITDA was up 6.4% to $1.3 billion.
