TORONTO (Reuters) - Canadian economic activity expanded at a faster pace in September as measures of prices and supplier deliveries moved higher, Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) data showed on Thursday.

The seasonally adjusted PMI rose to 70.4 from 66.0 in August. It has been above the 50 threshold, indicating an increase in activity, since February.

The index measures the month-to-month variation in economic activity as indicated by a panel of purchasing managers in the public and private sectors from across Canada.

The gauge of prices rose to 79.1 from 69.7 in August, while the supplier deliveries index was up at 36.5 from 34.2.

The unadjusted PMI rose to 64.5 from 63.8.
