During the boy band rivalry era of the late '90s and early 2000s, there was no question more important than whether you were Team Backstreet Boys or Team NSYNC.

In 2021, you don't have to choose.

Backstreet Boys members AJ McLean and Nick Carter partnered up with NSYNC’s Joey Fatone and Lance Bass to create the ultimate boy-band: "Back-Sync."

"It’s interesting to have the four of us knuckleheads do something together, which you’ve never seen before," Fatone told Variety over the weekend. "BSB fans are very loyal, so we’re going, ‘We get it – certain people liked one band or the other back in the day, but now it’s okay to like both.' " Carter added, "Better late than never, right?"

"Back-Sync" made their debut performance Friday night at Bingo Under the Stars in Los Angeles, a Pride event benefitting L.A. Pride and The Trevor Project.

"(Friday) night was our first performance hopefully of many as 'Back-Sync,' " McLean said in a TikTok video Saturday night. "I want to thank my brother Nick Carter and my two adopted brothers, Joey Fatone and Lance Bass."

"Back-Sync" performed the NSYNC hit "Bye Bye Bye" and Backstreet Boys' "I Want It That Way," complete with signature choreography, and although it "might sound crazy," according to McLean, "BACK-SYNC ain’t no lie!!!"

If you missed your shot at the nostalgia, don't fret. McLean said there's "hopefully more to come," and they are open to the possibility of a tour.

"We were just on stage going, 'Maybe we should do a supergroup and tour and do an album,' " Carter told Variety. "We’ve come together for a cause greater than ourselves, so let’s let it blossom into something."

McLean added, "This has been a long time coming. Everybody’s wanted us to do something together and now we get to come together for an amazing cause."

"Back-Sync" is also open to more members expand. "The more the merrier," McLean told Variety, in response to the possibility of Justin Timberlake joining in on the fun.

"Fans still want a Backstreet/NSYNC tour, but it’s got to be all 10 of us," McLean said. "It’s the only way to make it work, so I think he’d be sleeping on it if (Timberlake) didn’t do it, but he’s a dad doing his thing and I completely respect that. This four is a dream team right now."
