You should buy the iPhone 6 Plus instead of the iPhone 6

Business Insider The iPhone 6 Plus, left, is the best iPhone. I just finished a 13-hour journey to Barcelona, Spain, for the big Mobile World Congress show that starts Monday.

When I attended the same conference a year ago, I had an iPhone 5S with me. Because I was constantly running around taking photos, tweeting, and emailing with my iPhone, it would need to be charged at least twice a day. I was in a constant panic mode that my phone would die and I would be stranded in a foreign city without access to Google Maps or a way to call for help.

Things are different this year.

Now I have the iPhone 6 Plus, which not only has a screen that is 1.5 inches larger than my puny old 5S, it also has a larger battery. My Plus hadn't been charged in nearly 24 hours, and even though I spent a lot of Friday texting, checking Twitter, and watching movies on the plane, I still had over 40% of my battery life by the time I made it to Barcelona.

Battery life alone is enough to make me want to recommend the iPhone 6 Plus over the 6, but after five months as a 6 Plus user, I've found that the larger screen has changed a lot of my habits too.

For example, I no longer use an iPad. In fact I sold my iPad Mini a few months ago because it sat unused on my nightstand ever since I got the 6 Plus. The 6 Plus screen is big enough to handle everything my iPad Mini could, plus I can carry it around much easier. ( The only drawback: The 6 Plus screen is a little too small to read Kindle books, so I ended up buying a Kindle Paperwhite last month.)

I'll admit, when Samsung kicked off the phablet trend with the Galaxy Note over three years ago, I was highly skeptical. I thought I would never be able to carry around a device that large. Now I will gladly eat my words. Between the bigger screen and incredible battery life, I can't imagine owning a regular-size phone again.
