Yahoo Finance Bruce Willis Sells Modest House and 7 Additional Undeveloped Hillside Parcels (EXCLUSIVE)

YOUR MAMA’S NOTES: Ever-vigilant real estate yenta Yolanda Yakketyyak first spotted and online resources do indeed reveal action flick stalwart Bruce Willis, he of the half-billion-dollar and still churning “Die Hard” franchise, surreptitiously sold a fairly modestly sized house along with a contiguous group of undeveloped hillside parcels in the rugged mountains between Beverly Hills and Sherman Oaks for exactly $6 million. The buyers, per property records, are a couple of limited liability companies linked to Hermosa Beach-based property developer Patrick Kealy.
The complete spread, which was not listed on the open market, consists of eight irregularly shaped lots on the Sherman Oaks side of Mulholland Drive that range in size from .52 acres to 8.61 acres. Together the lots total 31.45 acres. Only one of the eight parcels, which spans a sliver more than five acres, currently has en existing residence that according to tax records was built in the 1950s with four bedrooms and three bathrooms in 2,905-square-feet. The house sits on a tree-shaded plateau above an extensively engineered and serpentine series of retaining walls that surely cost Mister Willis a few pretty pennies when they were installed in the mid-2000s. According to brief and not particularly informative online marketing materials we turned up, the lots and the house were offered as a group and additionally stated that the City of Beverly Hills would have the “final say on what can be built” on the individual parcels.
Property records are muddled and incomplete as to exactly when Mister Willis acquired the various parcels but do suggest he may have owned the five-acre parcel with the house since at least 1987 while the other lots appear to have been acquired in several transactions starting in the late 1990s.
Mister Willis no longer owns a home in Los Angeles — at least not that we know of — but he does still own a 22-acre, two-parcel compound in the bucolic and exceptionally prosperous Westchester County community of Bedford, New York, that he bought in two separate but contiguous 2014 transactions that totaled $12 million and that is anchored by an approximately 8,400-square-foot main residence with five bedrooms and eight bathrooms. He also continues to own but would like to get rid of a “sumptuous ski retreat” on more than 23 acres near Hailey, Idaho, that first came up for sale in 2011 at $15 million and is currently listed at the eye-poppingly lower price of $6,499,000.
The now 61-year-old veteran movie star, married in 2009 to model Emma Heming with whom he as two toddler age children, has considerably thinned his residential portfolio over the last couple of years. In August 2014, after he unsuccessfully tried to unload it with a pie-in-they-sky $22 million price tag, he sold a 10,379-square-foot Beverly Hills mansion for $16.5 million and last year he pocketed a couple million bucks on a large apartment in a distinguished building on New York City’s Central Park West he scooped up in March 2013 for $8.85 million from U2 bassist Adam Clayton and sold almost exactly two years later for $12.75 million.
