In the new documentary, director Samantha Stark and Times reporter Liz Day detail how Britney’s June 23 testimony, where she said she felt like a prisoner, prompted people to come forward to verify her story.

One is Alex Vlasov, a former staff member at Black Box Security, which used to staff bodyguards for Britney. He specifically told an eerie story about Edan Yemini, who is the company’s president and was Britney’s head of security for years.

Vlasov said in the documentary that Yemeni once asked him to delete an “extremely sensitive” audio recording that was linked to Britney.

“Edan and one of the agents working with him came into my office and handed me the audio recording device and a USB drive and asked me to wipe it,” Vlasov. “I had them tell me what was on it. They seemed very nervous and said that it was extremely sensitive, that nobody can ever know about this, and that’s why I need to delete everything on it so there’s no record of it.”

Vlasov said that the security team secretly captured audio recording from Britney’s bedroom, including interactions she had with her boyfriend and her children, per The New York Times. “It really reminded me of somebody that was in prison,” Vlasov said. “And security was put in a position to be the prison guards essentially.”

Yemeni declined to comment to the Times, but said in a statement through his lawyer that “Mr. Yemini and Black Box have always conducted themselves within professional, ethical and legal bounds, and they are particularly proud of their work in keeping Ms. Spears safe for many years.”

So, where is Edan Yemeni now? There’s not a ton of information out there about him, but it doesn’t seem like much has changed for him.

Yemeni’s LinkedIn profile still has him listed as the president of Black Box Security, although it doesn’t give any dates. Yemeni is also listed as the founder of his company on the Black Box Security website, and there’s no indication that he’s no longer there. Black Box, by the way, has famous clients including the Kardashians, Miley Cyrus, and Lana del Rey, according to the Times.

Kris Jenner eventually snatched Yemeni up in 2019, according to Radar, but it’s not clear if he’s still actively protecting her.
