Brighton library closed to public during shutdown

·1 min read

The Brighton Public Library has closed its doors again due to the shutdown recently implemented by the provincial government.

Ontario announced new restrictions, aimed at helping curb the rising number of COVID-19 cases, beginning April 3.

“In accordance with these regulations and to help keep staff and patrons safe, we are bringing back our curbside service,” said Heather Ratz, Brighton Public Library CEO.

Residents may pick up materials at the library’s front door on Alice Street while the library is closed to public.

In addition, the plan to reopen the Codrington branch April 6 has been put on hold. It will remain closed.

Curbside pick-up is available Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“Holds” may be placed any time on the library website at www.brighton.library.on.ca or by calling 613-475-2511.

Arrangements can be made to pick up material at the Codrington location.

Library staff will contact residents when their “holds” are ready for pick up.
