Mister Meyer, who once told Conan O’Brien he slept — and fornicated — in a homemade satin-lined coffin for a few of his teenage years, got his big break as a skateboarding stoner the 1995 comedy “Clueless” and spent the last few years co-starring on the cancelled dramedy “Franklin & Bash.” He currently writes for and does voiceover work on the long-running stop-motion animated series “Robot Chicken” for which he’s received four Emmy nominations between 2009 and 2014.
Online marketing materials show the low-slung and hip-roofed, single-story ranch-style residence, set slightly above the street behind a waist-high wrought iron fence on a quiet cul-de-sac near the tippy-top of Nichols Canyon, was built in the mid-1960s and is currently configured with three bedrooms and three bathrooms in 2,146 square feet. An inset porch with a perfectly unnerving set of etched glass doors with utterly bizarre lion shaped embellishments open to a small but proper foyer. A “formal” living room and a family room are both united and divided by a double-sided, raised-hearth brick fireplace that’s been painted white the formal dining room is defined by a series of glass block walls that give this property gossip the shivers and has floor-to-ceiling windows hung with plantation blinds. The relatively compact kitchen has slab marble counter tops, glass tile backsplashes, medium-grade stainless steel appliances and a convenient for boozers but decoratively grim glass block wet bar that separates it from the family room where glass sliders open to a slender strip of yard between the house and the steep upslope behind the house. In the master bedroom one entire wall has ballet studio-like floor-to-ceiling mirrored panels and the attached marble bathroom has a double sink vanity and glass-enclosed shower stall but no bathtub. Glass doors in the master bedroom connect to the side yard where there’s a free-form swimming pool and spa.
Some of the more dedicated celebrity real estate watchers may recall that not quite two years ago, in the aftermath of his split and divorce from “Josie and the Pussycats” screenwriter Deborah Kaplan, Mister Breckin and his ex-wife couple sold their nearly 5,000-square-foot Beverly Hills home for $2,775,000 to decorated actor Ben Kinglsey and his much younger fourth wife, Brazilian film and stage actress Daniela Lavender.
