Brad Pitt's new movie with Sandra Bullock lands release date

Brad Pitt's new action movie Bullet Train has secured a release date.

Deadline has confirmed that Sony will be releasing Bullet Train, which also stars Sandra Bullock and Lady Gaga, theatrically and in IMAX and large premium formats on April 8, 2022, so we now know when we'll be zooming into cinemas to see it.

The action-thriller is based on the Japanese novel Maria Beetle by Kōtarō Isaka and focuses on a group of five assassins who all board the same bullet train with very different agendas but something unexpected in common. Of course, chaos soon erupts.

Bullet Train will be directed by Deadpool 2 and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw director David Leitch, while the script has been written by Fear Street 2 writer Zak Olkewicz.

Leitch is also producing alongside Deadpool 2 executive producer Kelly McCormick and The Equalizer 2 producers Antoine Fuqua and Kat Samick.

Alongside Pitt, Ocean's 8 actress Sandra Bullock and A Star Is Born actress and singer Lady Gaga, the movie will also star Marvel's Eternals actor Brian Tyree Henry and Westworld and Avengers: Endgame star Hiroyuki Sanada.

Also boarding the star-studded cast list are The Kissing Booth actress Joey King, Kick-Ass and Avengers: Age of Ultron star Aaron Taylor-Johnson, The Boys star Karen Fukuhara and Snake Eyes actor Andrew Koji.

Actress Joey King shared a first glimpse at the movie – albeit a backstage one –earlier this year when she shared a photo of herself hanging out with co-star Brian Tyree Henry behind the scenes.

Intriguingly, she captioned the photo: "Please have your tickets ready for the killer, I mean conductor #BulletTrainMovie," suggesting that we can expect some killer action in the movie.

Bullet Train is due to be released in cinemas on April 8, 2022.
