BMW Unveils M5 Pure Metal Silver Limited Edition
BMW recently announced that it will produce one of its most powerful cars in a limited edition for the U.S. market. Only 50 M5 Pure Metal Silver Limited Edition midsize premium cars will be produced in Germany and available beginning in August 2016 with a suggested retail price of $131,895, including handling.
The high-performance sporty sedan comes in a special silver paint color with a layered chrome-like appearance that will charge ahead powered by a 4.4-liter, twin-turbo V-8 engine. The motor produces 600 horsepower (40 more than a standard M5) and 516 lb.-ft. of torque when mated with the M dual-clutch transmission, which allows the car to sprint from 0-60 mph in a claimed 3.9 seconds.
The M5 Pure Metal Silver Edition rides on special M 20-in. alloy wheels and features a black kidney grille with M Performance exhaust with a carbon bezel and the M Competition package, which also features a lowered stance and a firmer setup with spring damper systems and stabilizers.
Inside, the car features full leather upholstery and electrically adjustable sport seats with contrast stitching. Aluminum metal trim inside the cabin is embellished with a Pure Metal Silver M5 numbered-edition badge. Standard premium equipment in the M5 Limited Edition includes BMW’s head-up display, BMW driving assist, real-time traffic information, navigation, keyless entry, and adaptive LED lights.
BMW includes the standard M Driver’s package with the M5 Pure Metal Silver Limited Edition that includes a 1-day performance driving school course with exercises tailored for the racetrack. The driving school is available at BMW Performance Center East in South Carolina or on the West Coast in California.
