BMO Investments Inc. Announces Changes to its Mutual Fund Lineup

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - April 2, 2015) - BMO Investments Inc. (BMOII) today announced changes to its BMO Mutual Funds lineup.

The changes are as follows:

Merger of BMO LifeStage Plus 2015 Fund with BMO Money Market Fund

BMO LifeStage Plus 2015 Fund (BMO LSP 2015) is approaching its June 30, 2015, target maturity date. Upon maturity, BMO LSP 2015 will be merged into BMO Money Market Fund on a tax deferred basis, effective after the close of business on or about July 3, 2015. The Independent Review Committee of the BMO Mutual Funds approved the merger after considering and determining that, if implemented, the merger would achieve a fair and reasonable result for the securityholders of BMO LSP 2015. Securityholders of BMO LSP 2015 will receive securities of BMO Money Market Fund, determined on a dollar-for-dollar basis, and the BMO LSP 2015 will be wound up as soon as possible following the merger.

Capped Series

Effective after the close of business on April 10, 2015, the series of the following funds will be capped and will no longer be offered for sale to new or existing investors, including those subscribed to Continuous Savings Plans:

  • Series H of each of BMO Asian Growth and Income Class, BMO Canadian Equity Class, BMO Dividend Class, BMO Global Dividend Class, BMO Short-Term Income Class, BMO SelectClass® Income Portfolio, BMO SelectClass® Balanced Portfolio, BMO SelectClass® Growth Portfolio, and BMO SelectClass® Equity Growth Portfolio

  • Series NBF of each of BMO Asset Allocation Fund, BMO FundSelect® Balanced Portfolio, BMO FundSelect® Growth Portfolio, and BMO FundSelect® Equity Growth Portfolio

Risk Rating Changes

The risk rating for the following funds is changed as set out below, effective immediately, to align better with these funds' risk levels.

These new risk ratings are not as a result of any changes to the investment objectives, strategies or portfolio management of these mandates.

Changes to Investment Strategies

Effective April 7, 2015, the investment strategies of BMO Enhanced Equity Income Fund will change to give this fund the ability to implement put options. This change will provide the fund more opportunities to generate additional income.
