Bills star Josh Allen jokes about botching 1st pitch at Blue Jays game

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has arguably the strongest arm in the NFL, and we wouldn't be surprised if in another life he turned out to be a stellar MLB pitcher.

As it turns out, Allen isn't entirely sure himself.

Allen will throw out the first pitch before Thursday's game between the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees, as the Blue Jays continue to play their home games out of Buffalo's Sahlen Field due to restrictions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

In anticipation of Thursday's game, the Blue Jays tweeted that Allen would be taking the mound, and the star quarterback had some fun with it.

"Probably gonna overthrow it in the stands," Allen tweeted in response.

Prior to his breakout 2020 season, Allen displayed a propensity to overthrow wide receivers, while his inaccuracy held him back from his reaching his ceiling. In his third year, Allen not only corrected his one notable flaw, but he became one of the NFL's most efficient passers, completing 69.2 percent of his passes for 37 touchdowns against ten interceptions, as the Bills posted their best season in decades, losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.

If Allen continues on this trajectory, he'll become the most popular athlete in Buffalo since Dominik Hasek was between the pipes for the Sabres, or dating further back, fellow Bills legend Jim Kelly.

For the time being, we know Allen is just having fun out here. The Buffalo News reported that Allen had a pretty stellar high school baseball career, which isn't altogether surprising for a player of his caliber.

And if it goes wrong, the internet has a short memory, right?
