OpenTable just released its annual list of the 100 Best Restaurants for Foodies in America.

The list, which was generated from an analysis of more than five million OpenTable reviews, honors restaurants that are providing the kind of adventurous dining experience that foodies love.

"Whether they're reviving forgotten cooking techniques, championing the latest sustainable ingredient, or creating unexpectedly delicious and unique flavor pairings, these restaurants are where you can truly wow the foodies in your life," OpenTable Chief Dining Officer Caroline Potter wrote in a press release announcing the guide.

Restaurants that opened in 2015 were especially dominant and made up about a quarter of the list.

Eateries in all 50 states and the District of Columbia were considered, but New York stole the show with a total of 12 restaurants. California came in second with 11 and Texas took third with nine.
