Best mood-boosting rainbow jewellery

 (Roxanne First)
(Roxanne First)

Sprung out of the monotony of lockdown, we have a thing for rainbow-coloured jewellery.

With bold colours, and fun designs, it’s no longer about simple, minimalist gold or silver pieces - the brighter, the bolder, the better.

When our wardrobes consisted of the same few pyjamas and loungewear on rotation, we looked to another part of our ensemble to inject joy. Henry Graham, Creative Director at Wolf & Badger explains, “jewellery sales for April 2021 increased by 171 per cent with women’s jewellery becoming the second strongest performing category for us as a brand overall”.

Our collective attention turned to our jewellery collections where the thrill of the postman’s delivery was only one upped by the mood-boosting jewels inside.

We may have had no place to dress up but that didn’t stop us wearing our finest finery - even if it was for no occasion grander than checking the contents of the fridge.

Tanika Wisdom, Buyer at MATCHESFASHION explains, “total jewellery sales have increased by 40 per cent year on year since the UK lockdown began in March 2020. Over the lockdown period, necklaces, rings and earrings have seen the highest growth in sales with customers looking to elevate their Zoom call aesthetic and uplift their mood by investing in special pieces.”

She adds, “Most recently, as we have started to see lockdown restrictions eased, emotive and mood-lifting pieces have been popular from Bea Bongiasca’s joyful rings, Lauren Rubinski’s beaded bracelets featuring positive messaging and Fry Powers’ rainbow necklaces.”

Fashion search platform Lyst also confirmed that sales are up 21 per cent of these playful rainbow-hued adornments.

To brighten up your post-lockdown life, we have gathered our favourite rainbow jewellery.
